Course overview
Developed in consultation with Cengage Education’s network of industry partners, the Bachelor of Business incorporates the latest commercial thinking with fundamental business concepts, theory and practices.
Students develop a professional education in broad-based business, or specialise in a rewarding niche discipline including:
- Corporate Governance;
- Event and Facility Management;
- Logistics Management;
- Sport Management.
Five study choices
- General Management: offers a solid grounding in business administration. Develop an extensive understanding of universal management fundamentals and acquire practical skills needed to run a business. In addition to 12 compulsory Core subjects or Units as they are known in Higher Education, you can select 12 elective Units from the available Majors or Bachelor of Accounting, providing progression rules are satisfied.
- Specialise in Corporate Governance learning the principles and practices of sound and ethical company management, including risk assessment, financial analysis, regulatory compliance and effective corporate communications.
- Specialise in Event and Facility Management learning about the organisation and administration of sporting events and facilities, including the management of media and sponsorship providing a platform for a career in corporate hospitality, entertainment and business events management.
- Specialise in Logistics Management for a comprehensive and highly integrated grounding in the principles and practices of supply chain management relevant to all forms of logistics, from transport to warehousing.
- Specialise in Sport Management for a detailed analysis of the nature and culture of sport, and a solid grounding in the professional management of sporting activities and business.
Units required for completion
Students must complete 24 Units to graduate with the Bachelor of Business unless granted exemptions for Advanced Standing through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Switching preferences
Provided you meet progression requirements, there’s always the option of switching to a Bachelor of Accounting, Business Major or even a combined Accounting/Business degree.
Earn degree credits from your vocational studies
Applicants who have completed post-secondary studies are eligible to apply for credits towards their degree in the core or any of the Major Units. Cengage Education also recognises professional experience in relevant disciplines, so some applicants may also receive recognition for on-the-job learning.
