Get the skills to work in child care.
With dramatic growth in the numbers of dual income families, the business of caring for children has fallen increasingly into the public domain. The call has risen for increasing levels of professionalism in the child care industry.
The Certificate III in Children’s Services course gives students nationally recognised qualifications to work in child care centres, vacation care centres, family day care centres and home–based care services, for example as a nanny. You’ll learn in depth about appropriate interaction with children and fulfilling their physical, emotional and self–care needs.
The course also covers legal and ethical considerations, as well as identifying and responding to risk factors.
Student’s will receive a FREE 12–month Early Childhood Australia membership. Membership entitles students to:

- a fortnightly ECA Web Watch e–newsletter
- a quarterly ECA Voice member newsletter
- an ECA Code of Ethics brochure
Students will also have access to quality information from Early Childhood Australia’s website, including the Supporting Best Practice section – containing links to 100s of quality–assured fact sheets and articles.

Child Care students have a range of career paths open to them. As well as the opportunity to work across a wide range of industries, potential job roles in the field include:

On completion of your course:

First Aid certificate
Students will need to have completed and hold a current Basic First Aid Certificate, issued by an accredited provider. Students are required to submit certified copies of their First Aid Certificates. It is a mandatory requirement that all students complete the written and workplace components for First Aid modules, to meet the required outcomes for the following First Aid competency:
HLTFA1A: Apply basic first aid — correlates to St John’s Senior First Aid Certificate or the Australian Red Cross Course in Basic First Aid.
