Welcome to the World of Writing!
Marg McAlister has proved that a writer can earn a good income in a number of writing categories and genres. She has written fiction and non-fiction for adults and is the author of more than 50 children's titles.
Her work in writing children's books targets a wide age range and includes picture books, short books and writing for children with reading difficulties, as well as mysteries for older children.
She was part of the Charles Sturt University (Mitchell) Enrichment Program for five years, teaching creative writing to talented children.
Marg has also been a ghostwriter for business professionals and those on the international speaking circuit.
As well as tutoring and writing for children, she has written speeches, books and articles on Customer Service, Public Speaking, Marketing, Real Estate Sales, Networking and Delivering Dynamic Presentations - among other subjects!
With networking expert Robyn Henderson, Marg has co-authored a book on networking and self-promotion: Be Seen, Get Known, Move Ahead.
Writing Children's Books
Aside from writing children's books, Marg was on the Committee of Romance Writers of Australia for four years, and twice has been on the staff of the Writer's Retreat Workshop in Kentucky, USA. This workshop has been designated by USA Weekend as the writing program "vacation that can change your life".
Early in 2005, her popular Internet-based newsletter for writers was transformed into a new site: www.Writing4SuccessClub.com. This site has hundreds of articles of interest to writers in all genres, as well as software products and e-books.
Two other websites, www.writing4success.com and www.writing-for-success-online.com, offer ongoing help and inspiration for writers.
A free two-weekly tip sheet (available from www.writing4success.com) keeps writers up to date with writing techniques, e-publishing, and running a writing business.
